Austin Housing Authority celebrated 70 youth residents at its annual Y.E.S. Incentive Youth Trip, recognizing students across its PBRA communities and Housing Choice Voucher program for strong grades and consistent school attendance.
Hard work throughout the school year deserves to be celebrated.
Through Austin Housing Authority’s Youth Educational Success (Y.E.S.) Program, young residents are encouraged to stay focused on their education while receiving recognition for the effort they put in along the way.
This year, 100 students earned eligibility for the annual Y.E.S. Incentive Youth Trip by achieving A/B Honor Roll or Perfect Attendance. Of those students, 70 attended the celebration at PINSTACKS.
More Than a Day of Fun
The annual incentive trip gives students an opportunity to enjoy the results of the work they put in throughout the school year.
Maintaining strong grades or achieving Perfect Attendance takes consistency. From completing assignments and preparing for tests to simply showing up each day ready to learn, each eligible student reached a milestone worth recognizing.
At PINSTACKS, students had the chance to step away from the classroom, spend time together and enjoy a day centered around their accomplishments.
The celebration may last a day, but what earned them a spot took commitment throughout the year.
Recognizing Hard Work
The Y.E.S. Program is designed to encourage academic achievement and consistent attendance among youth served through Austin Housing Authority’s PBRA communities and Housing Choice Voucher program.
Throughout the year, students can earn incentives for meeting academic and attendance goals, with the annual trip serving as an additional opportunity to recognize their success.
For the students who attended this year, the day at PINSTACKS offered a chance to celebrate what they had accomplished before beginning another school year.
